Is OpusClip free? The free plan, watermark and credits
What OpusClip's free plan includes, what its watermark is, how its credits are counted, and what each paid plan adds, read from OpusClip's own pricing page and help center. We make ClipAI, a competing clipper, and say at the end where each one fits better.
Is OpusClip free?
Yes, OpusClip has a free-forever plan: 60 processing minutes of video a month, AI captions and imports from YouTube or your own files. Clips on the free plan (and the free trial) carry an OpusClip logo watermark, exports are kept for 3 days at up to 1080p, and the virality score and editing are not included. Removing the watermark takes a paid plan: Starter at $15/month (150 minutes) or Pro at $29/month (300 minutes). For comparison, ClipAI has no watermark on any plan, from $12/month, but no free plan for making clips.

The three things people ask
Is it really free?
Yes. The free plan does not expire and needs no card. It resets to 60 minutes of video each month. OpusClip also offers a free trial of its paid features, and trial clips are watermarked too.
What is the watermark, and how do I remove it?
An OpusClip brand logo burned into clips made on the free plan or the free trial. The only way to remove it is to upgrade: OpusClip's help center says paid plans remove it automatically, including from clips you made on the free plan or trial.
What is a credit?
One credit is one minute of source video processed. A 30-minute podcast uses 30 of the free plan's 60 a month, whatever number of clips it yields. Paid plans can buy top-up credits from the subscription page.
Where OpusClip wins
- A free plan for making clips (60 minutes a month), which ClipAI does not have
- More import sources on Pro (Twitch, Dropbox, Loom, Riverside and others)
- Posting to Facebook, X and Pinterest
- Team workspaces with shared seats on Pro
Where ClipAI wins
- No watermark on any ClipAI plan, and no credits: plans count videos, not minutes (Starter $12 (15 videos), Creator $29 (40 videos), Studio $59 (80 videos))
- The virality score is free to try: 3 clips a day with no account; OpusClip keeps its score on paid plans
- Every feature in every plan, including scheduling and dubbing
