ClipAI (“ClipAI”, “we”, “us”) provides an AI-powered service that analyses videos you upload, detects highlight clips, generates captions, and — at your direction — publishes those clips to your connected social media accounts. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account information: your name and email address, and authentication identifiers if you sign in with a third-party provider.
Content you provide: videos you upload or import, and the transcripts, clips, captions, and thumbnails generated from them.
Social account connections: OAuth access and refresh tokens (or app passwords) for the social platforms you choose to connect. These are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and used only to publish on your behalf.
Billing information: subscription status and customer identifiers. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
Usage and technical data: processing job status, basic logs, and request metadata needed to operate and secure the service.

How We Use Your Information

To transcribe, analyse, and detect clips in your videos, and to render and store the resulting clips.
To publish clips to the social accounts you explicitly connect and schedule.
To manage your account, subscription, and usage limits.
To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
To send service-related email (e.g. account, billing, and processing notifications).

Third-Party Processors

We share data with the following service providers strictly to operate ClipAI. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

Groq — receives the audio of speech videos to produce transcripts.
Anthropic (Claude) — receives transcript text and/or video frames to score and title clips.
Cloud infrastructure: Vercel (web hosting), Fly.io (processing), Supabase (database), Tigris (video/clip storage), and Upstash (queue/cache).
Stripe — payment processing.
Email delivery providers for transactional email.
Social platforms you connect (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky) — receive the clips, captions, and metadata you choose to publish.

We do not sell your personal data or your content to anyone.

Data Retention

We retain your account data, videos, and clips for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual videos (which removes their clips) at any time, and you can delete your account to remove your associated data. Disconnecting a social account removes its stored tokens. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, or accounting purposes.

Security

Social credentials are encrypted at rest. Access to the service is authenticated, and traffic is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Your Rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can revoke ClipAI’s access to a connected social account at any time, both within ClipAI and from that platform’s own settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Children

ClipAI is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
