By creating an account or using ClipAI (the “Service”), on clipai.online or in the ClipAI iOS app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. ClipAI analyses videos you provide, detects highlight clips, generates captions, and helps you publish clips to social media platforms you connect.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or older where the law of your country requires, to use the Service. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need a parent or guardian’s permission. If you use ClipAI for a business, you confirm you can accept these Terms for it.
Your Content and Rights
- You must own or have all necessary rights and permissions for the videos you upload or import and the content you publish, including the consent of people who appear or speak in them where the law requires it.
- You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, transcribe, adapt (for example cut, reframe, caption and dub) and store it, and to send it to the platforms you choose, solely to provide the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept for as long as the law requires.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not use it in our own marketing without your permission.
- Some features make content visible to others at your direction, such as a shared score card, a clip pack link, or a public campaign page. Anyone with the link can see what you share that way.
- You are solely responsible for the clips and captions you publish to third-party platforms, and for complying with those platforms’ terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to process or publish content that:
- is unlawful, or infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
- sexualises minors, or is sexually explicit content of anyone without their consent;
- harasses, threatens, or promotes violence or hatred against people based on a protected characteristic;
- impersonates someone or misleads people, including AI-dubbed or edited audio that makes a real person appear to say something they did not, unless you have their permission and label it as the platform requires;
- is spam, or violates the rules of any connected platform.
You will not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service, or get around its usage limits or watermark.
Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on ClipAI infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at hello@clipai.online with the subject “Copyright notice”, including: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) the work you claim is infringed; (3) the link to the material on ClipAI you want removed; (4) your contact details; (5) a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
We will remove or disable access to the material and tell the user who posted it. If you believe your content was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with your signature, the material removed and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the United States, any district where ClipAI may be found). We may restore the material if the complainant does not tell us within 10 business days that it has filed a court action. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
Removing Content and Suspending Accounts
We may remove content, disable a public link, or suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law, or puts users, ClipAI or third parties at risk. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a way to respond by emailing us.
Connected Accounts
When you connect a social account, you authorise ClipAI to publish content on your behalf as you direct and to read the performance of posts published through ClipAI. You can revoke this access at any time within ClipAI or from the platform’s settings. Your use of each platform remains subject to that platform’s own terms. Using ClipAI’s YouTube features (connecting a YouTube channel or adding a YouTube post link) means you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Free Trial, Subscriptions and Billing
New accounts start with a 1-day free trial. No card is needed for the trial, it does not turn into a paid plan on its own, and trial output carries a ClipAI watermark and is limited to a small number of videos. Prices are shown in US dollars on our Pricing page and at checkout.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. Usage limits apply per plan. We will tell you in advance of any price change, and it applies from your next billing period. If you subscribed on the web, you can cancel online at any time from Settings in your account, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, your subscription is managed and cancelled in your Apple Account settings, and Apple’s terms govern that billing.
Cancel anytime; no refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at hello@clipai.online. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its own policy.
Referral Program
You can invite others with your personal invite link or invite code. When an invited person creates a new account through your link or with your code and their first clip finishes, you each receive bonus videos for that calendar month. Bonus videos expire at the end of the month they are granted, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred. The inviting account can earn referral bonuses for a limited number of new accounts per month. Inviting yourself, creating multiple accounts, or other abuse is not allowed, and we may withhold or remove bonuses in those cases. We may change or end the program at any time; bonuses already granted stay usable until they expire.
AI-Generated Output
Clip detection, scores, titles, captions, translations and dubbed audio are produced by automated AI models and may contain errors. Clip scores are estimates of how a clip might perform, not a promise: we do not guarantee views, followers, reach or any other result. You are responsible for reviewing output before publishing, and for labelling AI-generated or AI-altered content (such as a dubbed, synthetic voice) where a platform or the law requires it.
AI dubbing uses a third-party AI voice service: the clip is sent to that provider (named in our Privacy Policy) to create the dubbed voice. Before you dub a clip you must have the consent of every person whose voice will be dubbed, and requesting a dub confirms that you have it. The web app and the latest iPhone app also ask you to confirm it before each dub.
Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party platforms and providers (listed in our Privacy Policy). We are not responsible for their availability, or for changes they make that affect features such as publishing or importing.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys, and for activity under your account.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts as described above. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability) survive it.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipAI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or audience, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Apple App Store
If you downloaded ClipAI from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and ClipAI, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, has no other warranty obligation for it; if the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any. ClipAI, not Apple, is responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and intellectual property claims. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also follow Apple’s Usage Rules. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
